Call for Abstract

Submission Period

Instructions for Submission
  • Abstracts can only be submitted via online submission system.
  • Abstracts must contain original data.
  • Abstracts that have been presented at other society meetings or published previously can be submitted, but those abstracts are not eligible for award application.
  • All abstracts must be written in English.
  • All messages regarding abstract are sent to the registered email address of the persons who complete submission.
  • All accepted abstracts for presentation will be published in APSTH 2018 abstract book.
  • Please check for spelling, grammatical or scientific errors before submission. APSTH 2018 will not do proofreading, and your abstract will be printed exactly as submitted.

Presenting Author
Presenting author will be printed as the first author of the abstract.
Only presenting authors are eligible for award application.
Presentation Type
All abstracts are reviewed and allocated to either oral or poster presentation, or rejected.
Conflicts of Interest (COI)
To judge commercial influence to the contents, presenting author is requested to declare any potential COI for all authors involved in the abstract.

Potential COI may include, but not limited to, follows:
  • Support to your study from third party (grant, research materials etc.)
  • Financial relationship with third party, that may not be directly related to, but may influence the study (honoraria, consultancy fee, employment etc.)
  • Intellectual properties related to the study (copyrights, patent, royalties etc.)
  • Any other relationship that may be perceived to influence the study

COI declaration will be printed in APSTH 2018 abstract book as "Declared" or "None Declared". Also presenting authors are required to state whether there is COI or not in the oral presentation slide or poster, as well as COI details if declared (e.g. Author receives grant from Third Party, etc.).
Abstract Structure and Length
Abstract should comply with followings.
Number of AuthorsUp to 10 authors (including presenting author)
Number of InstitutionUp to 10 institutions (including presenting author's Institution)
Abstract TitleUp to 200 characters (including space and punctuation)
Abstract BodyA maximum of 1,500 characters (including space and punctuation)
* No tables, graphs or images can be included.
StructureAbstract should be structured into sections such as "Aims", "Methods", Results", and "Conclusions".
KeywordsRegister 4 keywords that reflect the study
Total LengthA maximum of 2,500 characters (including authors, institutions, abstract title, abstract body, and keywords)
Travel Grants Award
Travel Grants Award aims to encourage scientists and clinicians to present their work and exchange new scientific ideas with peers. Only the presenting author of abstracts can apply and win the following awards.
  • Grant of JPY 50,000 (awarded directly to the winners onsite)
  • Exemption from congress registration fee
  • Invitation to the banquet held at night during congress (details to be announced)

[ Application Requirement ]
  • Only the presenting author of abstracts can apply and win the award.
  • Applicants must be 45 years old or younger as of June 30, 2018.
  • Abstracts must contain original data and should not be presented or published elsewhere prior to this submission.
  • Winners must present their abstract in oral presentation session in APSTH 2018.
Poster Award
APSTH 2018 will award the grant of JPY 10,000 onsite to the presenting authors of poster presentations with good scientific quality.

[ Application Requirement ]
  • Only the presenting author of abstracts can apply and win the award.
  • All presenting authors, especially young scientists and clinicians, are welcome to apply.
  • Abstracts must contain original data and should not be presented or published elsewhere prior to this submission.
  • Winners must present their abstract in poster session in APSTH 2018.
Result of Abstract Review
Organizers will review all abstracts, and the acceptance of the submitted abstracts with the presentation details will be announced around April 2018. Authors applying for awards will be notified in their abstract notification e-mail.
